It would be great if you could learn to start standing up for yourself! Let me know if it works out!! Sometimes anger - just anger - is a good thing!! See, when something upsets me or I am faced with confrontation I usually hide from it, side-step it, or completely fail to acknowledge its existence and then stuff it all down with food. On the outside, I am always the "nice" one, the one who will go out of her way to do anything to help anyone, the "doormat" if you will, simply because I'm afraid/unwilling/uncomfortable with conflict. This has led me down the path of extremely low self esteem and confidence, and so in a way, I hope that as I continue my journey, I learn to truly get mad once in awhile. Not all the time, but actually get angry when I feel like I am not being treated fairly, instead of pretending everything is ok, only to go home sulking to my salty snacks.

It's strange, because I think both you and I have very valid sides of our views on anger, and both sides played a big part in our story of becoming obese - so interesting.Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07494856650618536998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11125999893780432.post-23368352992668437472014-03-19T21:21:37.052-04:002014-03-19T21:21:37.052-04:00Wow, I really could use the quote at the end of yo...Wow, I really could use the quote at the end of your post. Not weight-related, but my sister goes through life in a constant state of drama. She always has something that she is mad at, or past wrongs committed against her person that she can't let go. A family friend said it;s sad to see a person who is so miserable all the time. But she wouldn't see herself, so I won't try. But boy, did you nail it!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
